The BYSA Board of Directors has vacancies in the following roles (see below for descriptions):
 
  • Traveling Program Co-Director
  • Field and Equipment Director
  • Communications Director
Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month starting at 6:00 PM.

Traveling Program Co-Director

  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Coaching to form traveling teams within 1 week after registration closes to present to the Board for discussion and approval. (Spring/Fall)

  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Coaching to solicit and nominate coaches.

  • Work with the Registrar to assist in registration and issue resolution.  

  • If Tetra Coaches are utilized, coordinate with Wesley.  This includes identifying host families if Tetra coaches are hired.

  • Identify managers for competitive teams.

  • Train and collaborate with team managers throughout the season regarding all aspects of the travel season.  This includes scheduling, rostering, using the communication tools provided by BYSA, tournament check-ins, equipment management, etc.

  • Assist in practice field selection and schedule for competitive division coaches.  During the spring season this may include identifying indoor spaces for practices prior to outdoor fields being ready.

  • Coordinate the uniform ordering and number assignments with players and vendor (SquadLocker) 

  • Serve as the communication link between competitive team coaches, team managers and the Board.

  • Respond to email inquiries regarding the traveling program.

  • Coordinate team photos with Recreation Directors during the spring season.  Coordinate communication to families with team managers.

  • Reserve BYSA hotel blocks for tournaments during the spring season

Field and Equipment Director

  • Field Maintenance & Preparation: Ensure all fields are properly lined, goals are secured, and playing surfaces are safe before games and practices. Coordinate with the city or field owners for necessary repairs and upkeep.

  • Equipment Inventory & Distribution: Manage all soccer equipment, including balls, cones, nets, corner flags, and first aid kits. Distribute gear to coaches at the start of the season and collect it at the end.

  • Scheduling & Coordination: Work with the league and referees to ensure fields are available and properly set up for games, tournaments, and training sessions. Coordinate field closures due to weather or maintenance.

  • Purchasing & Budgeting: Assess equipment needs, obtain quotes, and purchase necessary items within the allocated budget. Track expenditures and recommend future investments in equipment and field improvements.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all equipment meets safety standards, goals are anchored, and fields comply with league regulations. Address any hazardous conditions and communicate with the board about necessary fixes

Communications Director

  • Work with the President and Vice President on creation/maintenance of BYSA brand standards. Ensure all promotional and marketing materials follow the club’s brand identity.

  • Collaborate with the President and Vice President to create a communication plan for BYSA.  This includes the identification of the targeted platforms and specific strategies (Facebook posts, newsletters, etc.)

  • Serve as a co-administrator of BYSA’s social media platforms.

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to share BYSA’s key messages and engage target audiences. This includes creating a social media calendar to ensure regular communications to keep BYSA accounts active. It also includes developing promotional content to encourage engagement and inspire individuals to join BYSA (players and other positions such as coaches and team managers).

  • Monitor and expand the club’s social media and online presence.  This may include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.

  • Collaborate with Traveling and Recreation Directors to disseminate club related information (program related announcements such as registration start/end, evaluations, season surveys, MYSA directives, PeachJar)

  • Act in place of Traveling or Recreation Directors to communicate league specific announcements when requested/necessary (i.e. weather cancellation)

  • Write content for print and digital mediums including the club website, blog, brochures, and newsletters, etc.

  • Promote BYSA events (Party on the Playground, Good Neighbor Day Parade, Good Neighbor Days Family Day in the Park, Varsity Collaborative Games, Camps)
